Transplant Tumor Models for TME Research

Relying on the tumor microenvironment center technology platform, Alfa Cytology provides customized services for transplanted tumor animal models for TME research, helping researchers successfully achieve their research goals.

Introduction

A class of tumors that can grow by seeding transplants between hosts with stable survival rates, growth rates and natural regression rates; and that exhibit largely identical organismal responses and survival times between hosts is called transplanted tumors. This is the most widely used tumor model in experimental tumor and microenvironment research, and has unparalleled advantages of spontaneous and induced tumor models. Most of the drugs currently used in chemotherapy are discovered through pharmacodynamic tests with animal transplanted tumors, and therefore it is the most commonly used animal tumor model for screening new antitumor drugs. It is also advantageous for the study of tumor microenvironment on tumor development and therapeutic effects.

Services

With the development of human oncology research, numerous studies have spread tumors within and between species by transplantation of live tumors or tumor extracts. Various valuable results have been documented, especially in rodents. At Alfa Cytology, we have established a mature tumor microenvironment center technology platform, with a group of experienced tumor model customization experts, as well as mature tumor transplantation technology, to create various types of transplanted tumor models, mainly for tumor and microenvironment research . At present, we have completed the construction of tumor transplantation models of multiple species (mainly mice), providing customers with stock model products, model customization, joint research and development and other services, providing you with the best transplantation tumor models to meet your exact needs expect.

The customization services we offer for transplant tumor models include:

Alfa Cytology provides a variety of effective allogeneic xenograft models to test the effectiveness of drugs targeting the tumor microenvironment, depending on the needs of the client. Conventional tumor diseases include: head and neck, lung cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, etc. Animal experiments are performed by rats, mice and hamsters.

Syngeneic tumor transplantation models test the ability of model animals to use their well-established immune systems to fight cancer and the therapeutic effects of immunotherapy. Alfa Cytology provides a variety of effective syngeneic tumor transplantation models for studying tumor and microenvironment-related studies according to the needs of our clients. Conventional tumor diseases include breast cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, kidney cancer, DLBCL lymphoma, etc. Animal experiments are conducted through rats, mice, hamsters, etc.

Xenogeneic in situ tumor transplantation models allow the interaction between tumor cells and their surrounding interstitial organ microenvironment to be fully considered when evaluating drug efficacy and monitoring tumor growth. Alfa Cytology breaks the experimental and technical barriers for you, and now has mature in situ transplantation techniques, including brain in situ transplantation, liver in situ transplantation, lung in situ transplantation, tibial bone marrow cavity in situ transplantation, and intravesical in situ transplantation.

Humanized mice can easily simulate the biological characteristics of humans, which are crucial for the establishment of preclinical drug efficacy evaluation models, and can provide suitable drug efficacy model for the testing of biotech drugs such as antibodies or antibody conjugates (ADCs). It provides an excellent research tool for the detailed study of the role of the tumor microenvironment in tumorigenesis and treatment.

For example PBMC humanized models, CD34+ HSC humanized models.

The patient-derived tumor xenograft (PDX) is established by directly transplanting the patient's tumor tissue into immunodeficient mice. Most of the characteristics of primary tumors have good predictability of clinical efficacy.

Subcutaneous tumor model is the most popularly assessment system for in vivo efficacy evaluation of novel anti-cancer medicine candidates.

Transplantation sites:

  • Various sites have been used for tumor transplantation, including brain, spleen capsule, ovarian capsule, eye, etc. Of these, intramuscular, intraperitoneal, and subcutaneous are the most common sites.
  • Subcutaneous inoculations are generally used for regular maintenance of most solid tumors; and for ascites growths, the inoculum is placed intraperitoneally.
