Imaging Services of Tumor Mechanical Microenvironment

Relying on the technology platform of the tumor microenvironment center, Alfa Cytology provides a full range of services for imaging the tumor mechanical microenvironment to help researchers successfully achieve their research goals.

Introduction

The mechanical microenvironment has been shown to act as a key regulator of tumor growth behavior and signaling, and it is part of a complex, bidirectional set of mechanosensitive interactions that are themselves modified and modified. This makes it inevitable to explore the tumor mechanical microenvironment. By applying the latest microfluidic chip technology with surface micromodeling and other technical means, some studies have found that the physical signals of cell spatial dimension, adhesion behavior, and mechanical forces in the tumor microenvironment have a great impact on the establishment and maintenance of cell polarity and cell migration behavior. In addition, although the development of 3D tumor models has promoted the study of the mechanism of the effect of rheology of substrates on tumor growth, the inverse problem of mapping changes in the mechanical environment of induced tumors is still challenging.

Based on imaging techniques, mechanical properties are also mapped to the spatial domain of large transmitted light, while information on qualitative changes in 3D tumor size and phenotype, local infiltration induced matrix degradation, and mechanical response of certain regions will be mined. This will provide a theoretical basis for obtaining new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches or correlations of the effects of biochemical stimuli on the mechanical microenvironment.

Services

Alfa Cytology investigates imaging methods to assess the spatial and temporal patterns of the tumor mechanical microenvironment. We integrate multiple imaging techniques, and our services include, but are not limited to:

Alfa Cytology utilizes such a powerful and viable technology to provide longitudinal monitoring of changes in the mechanical microenvironment of tumors.

Atomic force microscopy (AFM) imaging not only allows visual characterization of the ultramicroscopic surface of living cells, but also allows quantitative measurement of cellular mechanical properties (e.g. Young's modulus) by indentation techniques, providing the feasibility of in situ exploration of the dynamic physiological activities and mechanical behavior of individual living cells at the nanoscale. The AFM technique offered by Alfa Cytology has unique advantages: nanoscale spatial resolution, picoceros-level force sensitivity, label-free, and can work under solution.
