Experimental Tumor Animal Models for TME Research

Relying on the tumor microenvironment center technology platform, Alfa Cytology provides customized services for experimental tumor animal models for TME research, helping researchers successfully achieve their research goals.

Introduction

Experimental tumor animal models are animal models that use carcinogenic factors to induce tumor development in animals under experimental conditions. The principle is to use exogenous carcinogenic factors to cause abnormal genetic characteristics of cells that exhibit abnormal growth and high proliferative activity to form tumors. Tumors are induced in animals by the use of physical, chemical and biological carcinogenic factors under experimental conditions. The most common chemical carcinogenic factors include benzo(a)pyrene, methylcholanthrene, benzidine, nitrosamines, aflatoxins, etc. Animal models of carcinogen induction allow us to study the progression of tumors and microenvironmental alterations to understand the many environmental attacks that people may face and to help discover effective treatments for the resulting cancers.

Services

Based on the tumor microenvironment technology center platform, Alfa Cytology has established a suite of carcinogen-induced mouse models for a variety of tumor types, including hepatocellular, lung, cervical, and leukocyte, to meet the diverse needs of our clients. The application of this model allows for the study of changes in the microenvironment during tumorigenesis, as well as the evaluation of treatment effects. At Alfa Cytology, we are committed to providing you with the most efficient mouse models to save your valuable time and ensure data reliability. If you are interested in learning more about animal models or drug discovery services, please contact us for more information.

Induction methods we offer:

  • In situ induction: The carcinogens are directly contacted with the target tissues or organs of animals to induce tumor development in those tissues or organs, and the contact methods can be through coating, perfusion, feeding or embedding.
  • Ectopic induction: Tumors of the tissues or organs after contact with carcinogens are produced by burying the tissues or organs under the skin of the animal or another normal animal. Ectopic-induced tumors have the advantages of easy observation and material extraction.

The basic method of Alfa Cytology' tumor-inducing animal models:

  • When conducting experiments, attention must be paid to the selection of appropriate carcinogenic methods, animal strains, carcinogens and their solvents, dose and route of administration, and observation time. The dose of carcinogens should ensure a high survival rate, a short induction period and a high frequency of tumor induction.

Commonly used methods and routes of carcinogen administration:

  • Application method (skin tumor), transoral administration method (esophageal cancer, gastric cancer and colorectal cancer, etc.), injection method, tracheal injection method (lung cancer), threading method, burial method, etc.

Animals for induced tumor models:

  • Rats, mice, dogs, etc.

Carcinogens of induced tumor models:

  • Polycyclic hydrocarbons, nitrosamines, azo, aflatoxins.

Note: Our services list is constantly being updated and improved, please contact us by email for more up-to-date and relevant information.

Features

  • The model inducing factors and conditions can be artificially controlled, and the induced rate is much higher than the natural incidence rate.
  • The method is often applied to verify the role of suspected carcinogenic factors and in tumor etiology and tumor prevention studies.
  • Long induction time (3-5 months, or even 1-2 years).
