Imaging Services for TME Hypoxic Ecology

Relying on the technology platform of the tumor microenvironment center, Alfa Cytology provides a full range of services for imaging the hypoxic ecology in the tumor microenvironment (TME) to help researchers successfully achieve their research goals.

Introduction

Imaging the Hypoxic Ecology of TME

The rapid proliferation of tumor cells consumes a large amount of oxygen, and the delivery of oxygen (O2) is greatly inhibited because the blood supply inside the tumor is far from adequate. This inadequate oxygen supply is barely sufficient to meet the increasing metabolic demands of the actively proliferating tumor cells, leaving the intratumoral microenvironment significantly hypoxic. Thus, hypoxia is a common feature of all solid tumors. Targeted oxygen supply to the tumor site is one of the breakthrough points to enhance the effectiveness of radiotherapy and photodynamic therapy, and one of the reasons for the tolerance phenomenon of many tumor treatment methods.

Alfa Cytology has been conducting tumor microenvironment imaging research for many years, and has studied the integrated application of multiple imaging techniques for tumor diagnosis, staging and efficacy assessment. We have improved tumor imaging diagnostic methods, explored various new technologies such as CT and MR, and established the best imaging means. It has improved the accuracy of tumor efficacy assessment and reduced the unnecessary economic burden of patients.

Services

While there are several different methods to measure tumor hypoxia and related factors, there are no standards to quantify the spatial and temporal distribution of tumor hypoxia. Alfa Cytology investigates imaging methods to assess the spatial and temporal patterns of hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment. We integrate multiple imaging techniques, and our services include, but are not limited to:

Photoacoustic tomography is an emerging and rapidly evolving biomedical imaging modality that combines the advantages of optical and ultrasound imaging with high resolution, excellent contrast and deep tissue penetration. Photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) is an important embodiment of photoacoustic tomography. By leveraging its ability to provide in vivo anatomical and functional information non-invasively, it has been extensively investigated for preclinical and clinical applications. Alfa Cytology offers photoacoustic microscopy imaging services for the hypoxic ecology of the tumor microenvironment.

Molecular imaging has the potential advantage of looking at the core of hypoxic sites, targeting multiple biomarkers (multiplexing), gaining greater insight into triggers, hypoxia-inducing factors (HIF), etc., and evaluating therapies that target hypoxic ecological sites with a very high level of precision and detail.
